Valiazheekal Beach

The place has changed a lot from my last visit which was 4 yrs before. Lots of eateries available in the food joints alongside the shore. Warm waters and less windy even after 6 pm makes it more enjoyable for the kids. Just loved the vibe.

This could be a very good hangout place during the evenings. The main attraction of the place is the lighthouse, but for me the best part was the road from thottappalli to here. The lighthouse itself is good, clean not very crowded during the weekdays. However not being a crowded tourist destination has it's downfalls, like if want to have a decent lunch, you will have to travel atleast 10km. I would conclude saying that this is a good place to spend an evening with family.

Very nice small beach.Visit the lighthouse here. It will give you a good viewpoint of the whole beach and the sea from an appealing angle.

Valiyazheekal is one of the best places in Kerala to spend a whole evening. The bridge across fishing harbour, visit to light house and a stroll through beach - every part of this visit is enjoyable. The light house has a lift and is well maintained. Entry fee is nominal. If you are carrying a camera, pay INR 50 and obtain a pass. Staff here are helpful and cordial. Parking is also available. However I feel that authorities should do something to prevent visitors parking on the bridge. While parked both sides become a safety concern. The bridge is walkable with excellent walkways. Visitors can park their vehicle at a designated parking space and have a stroll on the bridge.
