Got tricked by the security guard at the gate that this was worth it.
Been on the road 9 months and have been to plenty of beaches.
With a 2 and 4 year old in tow, 40 min walk there and back for a pretty pointless beach.
some recommendations.
Go when the swell is a northerly direction. Will make the beach swimmable. Swell predictions were 1-2ft but were seeing 6-8ft straights coming through. It would be a swell magnet on a southerly swell. Not sure if ever surfable though. Drop off seemed to negate banks. But who knows.
Walk wasn’t that interesting either. Abit of a hill mid walk.
With 10 beaches to choose from close by, this is one you can miss.
Or go. Who cares what I say anyway.
Awesome scenery, the road down to target beach is absolutely wrecked by the rain. It’s well worth the walk from the lighthouse down to target beach and back approximately 2km round trip. Not for those who lack fitness or have injuries.
This place is just pristine! From the gorgeous white sand beach, fabulous waves and rocky Mimi-cliffs this place is just stunning! There is also views back over towards the lighthouse as well.
Walk itself is a nice easy 5km from the Honeymoon Bay Car Park.
There are picnic tables for those inclines at Target Beach. Note there is no toilet facilities once you get to Target Beach.
Strong recommend from me!!!
We discovered this beach on our visit to Honeymoon Bay. It is easy half hour walk through beautiful eucalyptus forest. There were just few other people there and couple snorkelling in crystal clear water. Places like this are pure delight and we look forward visiting again
