It would be more enjoyable when the weather is nice.

The beach is really nice, but unfortunately it is currently closed for access. However, there are a few alternative routes to reach it. If photographers are planning to capture Dragon Head, it's advisable to allocate extra time for walking.

We went to Number Sixteen Beach with the intention of catching the sunrise, but we were slightly disappointed. We ran into some locals who informed us that this area is actually better for watching sunsets. Nevertheless, witnessing the sun rise over the hills and illuminate the incoming waves was truly magical. During stormy weather, the surf here is quite powerful, and the tide rises rapidly within the hour that we were there. At the time, the path to Dragon's Head appeared to be dangerous, so we decided not to attempt it. I assume this place is safer to explore when the sea is calm, as there are rock pools and formations to walk to, particularly Dragon's Head which is just a few meters to the west. The parking area can be a bit difficult to spot, located just before a hump on the road, and it is not well-maintained as there were deep ruts in the sand the closer we got to the walk. The descent from the parking area can be steep, but there is a viewing deck before the path down to the beach. Overall, the beach is not crowded in the early morning and offers a stunning view of the vast ocean. It would be ideal to explore the entire stretch on calmer and clearer days.

The sunset experience at this beach is truly one-of-a-kind. Bring some fish and chips or a picnic and savor the mesmerizing sight of the last light sinking into the ocean. A sense of tranquility and serenity envelops this beach, enticing you to stay a little longer.

Number 16 Beach is home to The Dragon's Head and Lizard Rock. To access the beach, there are sandy walking paths and stairs. Although the descent and ascent are not too long, the soft sand can make it challenging. During severe weather and high tide, the beach can become completely submerged, so if you're planning to take photos, be cautious of the water level. The beach itself is sandy and offers a small amount of waves. It is not supervised by lifeguards. Along the beach, you'll find incredible rock pools and formations in both directions. Occasionally, blue ringed octopuses can be spotted in the rock pools. Unfortunately, there are no restroom facilities available.
