This beach is a stunning hidden gem! It's long and spacious, providing plenty of room for everyone, yet it was very peaceful the day I visited. The water is crystal clear and has a tropical appearance, making it an ideal spot for a swim. I highly recommend it; the experience was incredible!
Stunning beach all year round. Recently, a shipwreck has become visible near the river mouth. According to the Irish National Monuments Service: "These are the remains of the SS Algores, which sank on September 8, 1925, at Dunfanaghy Bar. The steamer was en route from Liscannor to Belfast carrying a cargo of stones when it sprang a leak and had to dock at Dunfanaghy in a sinking state. The vessel was beached near Dunfanaghy Bar, flooded, and eventually broke apart. Fortunately, there was no loss of life."
This beach is one of my many stepping stones to heaven. It's clean, tidy, and peaceful. Lisfanon Beach is perfect for clearing your head with a walk, enjoying the views, or spending a day out with the family.
