To get to Silica Cove, simply drive through Honeymoon Bay campground until you reach a parking area. From there, walk through a green gate. Along the way, you'll come across a toilet facility. The walk to the beach is fairly easy and leads you to a stunning and peaceful shoreline. Additionally, there is a shipwreck located on the rocks. If you're up for it, you can either turn back or continue along the loop to also explore Target Beach. The signs are easy to follow throughout the route.
We visited during the school holidays as an alternative to Hyams Beach, and it exceeded our expectations. The facilities are adequate, with shelters and picnic tables available. There's also a lovely playground for the kids. Nelson's Beach is ideal for a relaxing day if you prefer calmer waters. While parking can be a bit tricky, it's not unmanageable. A wagon can be quite useful.
White Sand Beach. On an ideal day, the water is calm and wave-free. Great for snorkeling when the water is clear. There's a lot of seaweed on the south end. Open only on weekends and public holidays. No pets allowed. Limited facilities with just one portaloo available.
