Isla Gasparilla, mejores playas

Cuando visitamos desde Nueva York, este es nuestro lugar favorito para estacionar e ir a la playa. Los baños están actualmente en reparación, pero la ducha sigue siendo funcional. Además, hay PortA Potties disponibles para uso en los baños.

This beach is a fantastic place to visit where you can relax and learn at the same time. The lighthouse museum was very interesting with friendly staff, and the State Park rangers were very helpful. We learned a lot about the history of the island, such as why the water cisterns were placed there. We really enjoyed our time there, including the beautiful beach and the special treat of seeing a local manatee swimming back and forth for us. It was a wonderful day full of fun. However, the parking space is quite limited due to the narrow end of the island. We needed disabled parking, but the two spaces were already taken. I suppose the size of the area limits the available space.

Esta playa no es ideal para familias con niños pequeños. Hay una caída significativa, muchas conchas rotas y el día que visitamos, el mar estaba agitado. A pesar de entrar solo un poco, aún logramos ver algunos peces. Sin embargo, el agua no estaba tan clara como esperábamos según la reputación del área. (Visitamos en mediados de octubre) No nos encontramos con manatíes u otra vida silvestre. La iglesia estaba cerrada, pero el museo del faro estaba abierto. No entramos porque todos estábamos en traje de baño. Pudimos encontrar 2 dientes de tiburón sin cavar mucho, y mis hijos recolectaron algunas conchas más grandes e intactas. Había una tarifa de entrada y una pequeña tarifa de estacionamiento. Durante esta época del año, la playa estaba ocupada principalmente por personas mayores, excepto nuestro grupo. Aunque había muchas personas pescando desde la playa, no presenciamos a nadie que realmente atrapara algo.
