Kamari beach

While in Santorini, at the end of the tour the guide said that you could either stay in Fira or go to the black beach (Kamari beach). I advise everyone to go to the Kamari beach (Greece), as it is a must-see and it would be a shame to go to Santorini and not swim in the sea. Yes, it is not comfortable to swim there as the whole beach is covered in stones, pebbles and natural pumice. You need to wear special shoes. Although that 1 hour that we were allocated on excursions on the beach can be endured without footwear. Also there is only one stall for changing. And to change into a swimming costume was necessary for almost everyone, especially girls and women, as for Santorini, most wore a beautiful (but comfortable) outfit to be beautiful in the pictures. There are not many sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach, we spread out on the rocks. But there was no time to lie and sunbathe, everyone hurried first to change into a swimming costume, then from a wet swimming costume to dry clothes and take pictures. And also there is very cool, because during our stay on the beach about 7-8 planes flew over our heads. The sight is super, they fly so low. But even all the inconvenience and that rush was a trifle compared to the beauty of the volcanic beach. We even took a couple of small stones and pumice stones with us as souvenirs. So take comfortable shoes, be patient (about the changing booth) and don't miss your chance to swim in the sea on the volcanic beach.

The only downside, for which I have no right to lower my grade, is the cold sea. For those who don't know, as the locals say, the sea warms up only by mid-June. So swimming enthusiasts, be aware of this fact. What did I do? Bought swimming suit with thermal protection. That's an option. About the service. On the Kamari beach, each area belongs to a specific restaurant. Look, there is an option of 10 euros for two for sunbeds with umbrellas, there is an option where the sunbeds are free, but you have to buy lunch. So there is a choice. About the day. The bottom is not comfortable for me. Stones, slippery. By the way, for those who like beautiful photos of planes, take note, there is an airport nearby, planes are constantly running at low altitude. We got to the beach by bus from Fira. Only 1,80 euro per one way round trip. Buses go every 20 minutes.

A rather strange feeling was left by Kamari beach. The black (volcanic) sand creates a rather untidy feeling, it's hotter than usual. The water, on the other hand, is very clean and very pleasant. In general I would hardly recommend going to Kamari beach for a long time. What was nice about Kamari beach is that there are "VIP" sunbeds, almost like sofas under awnings). I don't know what the price is, but it's probably more expensive than the standard 5-7 euros in Crete).

Excellent pedestrian promenade, lots of shops and restaurants with average prices. There are changing rooms and showers with fresh water on the Kamari beach. Lifeguards are available, plenty of sun loungers for up to €10 or free for visitors to some establishments. If you go a little deeper, you can find a great place for locals to eat souflaki, Kebab and gyros for a lot less. Kamari beach is stony, but there is a strip of fairly small pebbles and it is pleasant to lie on, the issue of large pebbles is resolved with slates. Clear and warm water, friendly people around and lovely palm trees and other greenery. Of all the beaches visited, this one is the most native.
