Pros: The beach offers a stunning view, with charming old school architecture integrated into the hillside featuring various terraces. There are plenty of cozy spots to relax with a drink or a book, and some of the staff members were exceptional. The pool is nice, and the beach itself is beautiful with a shallow sandy bottom and calm blue waters. The dinner served was very good.
Cons: Unfortunately, the two rooms we stayed in were quite dismal and in need of major updates. The decor was rather sad, the mattresses were extremely firm, and the linens were of poor quality. The rooms were dark and heavily scented with room deodorizer. The AC unit was very old and barely functional, and the bathrooms, especially the showers, were tiny. The breakfast buffet was of poor quality, and the entire property could benefit from a thorough cleaning to remove dirt and cobwebs. The gardens also require some attention. The most concerning issue was the abundance of mosquitoes, as we ended up covered in bites.
We stayed at a 5-star hotel in Sorrento for the same price, which was impeccably clean and beautifully renovated with spacious rooms, modern furniture, and updated bathrooms. However, like the beach hotel, the AC was barely working. The contrast between the two hotels at the same price point was quite surprising.
